The IEF Secretariat invites applications for the following position:
Energy Analyst
1. BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Conducts high quality energy reports and analysis as required in line with the IEF Secretariat programme of work on topics like the transparency of oil and gas markets, investment conditions in upstream and downstream sectors, etc
Assist in drafting agendas and papers for IEF Secretariat events at Ministerial and/or Executive level (workshops, conferences, seminars) and provides assistance in organizing such events
The position requires good background of energy industries as well as research skills and economic or engineering background. It also requires ability to work closely with colleagues in a multicultural environment across the lines in a good team spirit.
2. PRINCIPAL CONTACTS:
The analyst:
A. Reports to the Energy Director with whom he has frequent contacts.
B. Maintains contacts with relevant counterpart in the oil and gas producing and consuming countries, research institutes as well as other relevant international organizations (e.g. IEA, OPEC) and the oil & gas industry.
C. May participate as Secretariat’s representative at international meetings and functions in his/her area of expertise.
3. PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
A. Participates in energy analysis that is relevant to the IEF Secretariat work;
B. Assist in drafting agendas and papers for IEF Secretariat events (workshops, conferences, seminars) and provides assistance in organizing such events
C. Develops ideas for research projects to be carried out either by the Energy Division or by a third party.
4. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A. B.S. Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or closely related fields is required.
B. 7-9 years' experience in the field of energy, in particular in the oil and/or gas sector.
C. Proficiency in English (oral and writing).
D. The energy analyst must have the ability to handle problems in a rigorous, analytical fashion. Experience must have been sufficiently broad, in particular in the oil and /or gas sector.
